Is working 8 hours a day five days a week too much? Is it possible to achieve your work-life balance with these hours? Brielle Asaro’s video has made the rounds on the web, so much that it has even become a topic of discussion on several talk shows. The 21-year-old is an ordinary girl, a recent marketing graduate from university in South Carolina and on her first work experience. In one of her Tik Toks, she tells how exhausted she is from her new routine: “I don’t have time to do anything. I don’t have energy to work out. How do you have time for friends, dating?” It’s the classic eight-hour day, not counting two hours of transportation (round trip) that keep her busy all day. “The 9-5 schedule in general is crazy!!!”

Those who fully agree and support it because they are in the same situation, too tired (both psychologically and physically) with no time for themselves or to cultivate a passion. Those, on the other hand, think she is just lazy and point out that there are those who work much harder, without complaining.

Who is right?
