When Fanny Moizant and Sophie Hersan created Vestiaire Collective 14 years ago, sustainability was always a major goal. To date, they have managed to create a circular system to allow used items to have a new life, avoiding being thrown away or unused. “Think first, buy second.”

As an ambassador of sustainability, Vestiaire has decided to ban fast fashion. More than 30 brands, including Zara, H&M, Gap, Mango, Uniqlo, Tally Weijl, Bershka, Oysho, American apparel, Piazza Italia, and Abercrombie & Fitch will not be allowed to circulate on the platform. What is the purpose of this choice? As Fanny explained, the purpose is to reduce waste. We all know this… The real waste comes mainly from fast fashion because the garments, having no value and no quality, have no chance to be resold. From today, whenever a customer tries to sell an item that belongs to the list of banned brands, they will receive a message informing them of the prohibition.

What do you guys think about this?
