Dedicated to the most famous supermodels, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, “The Super Models” is the new docu-series on Apple TV. It was the 1990s, the years of supermodels. They all dreamed of their lives and aspired to be like them. They walked the runway for the most prestigious brands (Chanel, Prada, Valentino, Dior, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana…) they were featured in the hottest magazines and got to know the most famous people, until they became the most famous people themselves.

But do we really know their story? Naomi Campbell was the first black model to be on the front page of French Vogue and Time Magazine. Christy Turlington founded Every Mother Counts, an association that exposes the alarming rate of mortality among women during childbirth. Cindy Crawford was the first model to pose nude for PlayBoy. Linda Evangelista suffered from various illnesses, depression and botched surgeries during the years she was out of the spotlight.

“It wasn’t about the fashion, it was about the women. That’s what a super model is.”
