Ever since online shopping has existed, shopping has become super easy; similarly, returning a product has also become super easy. The platform Yocabè, an Italian startup specialised in marketplaces, conducted a survey just about returns: do you know how often a return happens? 16% of online purchases in Italy return back. As a result this is not bad, in fact it’s the lowest percentage in all of Europe, considering that in Switzerland and Germany returns exceed 44 to 45% of purchases, almost half.
But which product category is returned the most? Clothing (38%) definitely tops the list, including dresses, pants and skirts. This is because it is difficult to catch on the first try the right size or fit without actually trying on the garment. Moving on, we then have shoes (29%) and accessories (25%) with a lower percentage.
