Pride is coming! As we all know by now, June is the month dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, equal gender rights and love in all its forms. It is the month when everything takes on color! The main event is definitely the Pride parade that will be held on Saturday, June 24tth, starting from Central Station at the Arco della Pace. Among the various artists present will be Baby K, Orietta Berti, Malika Ayane, Coma_Cose, Aries, Angelina Mango, Kaze, Antonino, Santi Francesi, Big Boy, Ginevra, Italy Bares, Ethan, KAPUT, MyDrama, Yosef and many more.

Have you ever wondered why June in particular is pride month? It all begins between June 27th and 28th, 1969 in New York City, when police raid the Stonewall Inn, a gay club. Everyone there is accused of indecency just because of their sexual orientation, but this time, something changes. The gay community, tired of being unnecessarily judged and blamed, revolts. This is just the beginning of the famous Stonewell riots; in fact, the following day more than 500 people, including regulars at the bar and others from the LGBTQ+ community, band together to confront the cops. The more days pass, the more people increase. It is finally time to proclaim freedom and pride in their individuality and redeem their rights!

Since 1969, we have certainly made a lot of progress but it is still not enough. Let us remember that love is not prohibition but freedom! So…

Let’s celebrate love!
