Who has never seen Grease? Mosto of all, whose heart did not broke hearing the news of the disappearance of Olivia Newton-John?

Olivia Newton-John was not only the iconic Sandy in ‘Grease’, she was a woman who achieved many successes and faced as many sufferings.

Olivia was born in Cambridge, England, in 1948. Since she was a little girl, her love for music is immediately evident, in fact, during her scholastic years she created the ‘Soul Four’, a band with some of her classmates.

In 1966 she recorded her first song, ‘Till You Say Be Mine’, and in 1974 she also participated at the Eurovision Song Contest bringing with her the song ‘Long Live Love’, finishing in 4th place. Her successes do not end here! That same year, Olivia won her first two Grammy Awards and released some of her best-known singles, ‘If You Love Me’ and ‘I Honestly Love You’. Three years later, she landed the role of Sandy in ‘Grease’, in which she role-played with John Travolta, marking film history and turning her career.

“Danny is this the end?”

“Of course not. It’s only the beginning”

Danny was right. That was just the beginning! Her musical career continued unabated, so much that in 1981 she won another Grammy, becoming a world-famous icon and one of the most renowned pop stars in the 70-80’s.

Unfortunately, in 1992, she is diagnosed with breast cancer that drastically changed her life, forcing her to take a break from her greatest passion. Two years later she managed to defeat the disease and immediately returned to the world of music and entertainment. Unfortunately, the battle with cancer didn’t end definitively, in 2017 and later also in 2019, she is diagnosed again. Until the pop star left us a few days ago, on August 8th, 2022.

Listening to her songs, it’s possible to feel how much love is an integral part of her life, how she has been a positive, good and full of energy, despite the difficulties. That’s exactly how we want to remember her!
