For years now, LuisaViaRoma has been collaborating with Unicef Italia. On July 30th, a charity event was held in the beautiful Capri, at the Certosa di San Giacomo, the oldest monastery in the city. Did you know it was built in 1371! That’s long time ago!
Back to us, what is this event about? It’s a real gala! All the guests were offered a cocktail, a placée dinner (that is, a dinner seated and served by the staff) and participated to an auction of luxury goods and experiences, organised by Simon de Pury, an auctioneer and art collector. The awards were varied: a bronze sculpture in the shape of a bull designed by the artist Enrique Cabrera, an experience of acrobatic flight on a jet, a musical clock by Jacob & Co, a special car of ARES Modena and many others…
But the real focus of the evening was Jennifer Lopez who lit up the stage with her performance, singing 4 of her iconic pieces, including, “If you had my love”, “Waiting for tonight”, “Dance again” and “Get on the floor”. Can’t believe she is 53 years old!
JLo showed off three magnificent outfits in one, all designed by Roberto Cavalli by Fausto Pugliesi, paying tribute to Italian fashion.
The first look consists of a striped ruffle overcoat, that recalls the typical Cavalli animalier print, decorated with white feathers. Once removed, we discover the second outfit, a cropped top and pants, always with zebra print and feathers on the calves. Here comes the highlight, the third look, a super tight-fitting nude-coloured suit completely covered with crystals that become more and more dense in the bikini area, creating a real bra and thong.
In the sketch, the stylist defines the singer ‘Queen of Capri’. Isn’t he right?
But how much money was raised during this event? About 8 million! They will be used to contribute to UNICEF programs that protect the rights of all children, especially those who are experiencing the suffering of the Ukrainian and Syrian crisis.
As I always say, fashion is not just dresses and fashion shows!
