«The sun is the honour guest of this show», said Nicholas Ghesquière commenting the Cruise Louis Vuitton 2023 show. The fashion show took place at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego.
Everything was studied in detail. Starting from the timing, as soon as the sun started to set and the sky was coloured in yellow and orange, the show started. This is because even the choice of the materials outfits has been meticulously chosen, in fact, the creative director opted for fabrics and decorations in metal so that the sun reflected on them, creating a bright finish.
The looks seemed to come from the future, now Louis Vuitton is heading more and more towards a modern and futuristic style: sharp and angular silhouettes, metallic and lamé fabrics, oversize jackets, shiny effect and very particular patterns.
Interesting how the fabrics, including linen, silk and cotton, were left to their wild state and on some heels and bags were placed small solar panels.
What can I say, even in this fashion show nature and fashion blended harmoniously with the hope of heading towards a brighter future.
