Well, our beautiful Italy has been chosen as the destination for Louis Vuitton’s cruise collection. But where precisely? The chosen spot is Isola Bella, part of the Borromean Islands of Lago Maggiore, which have also been a candidate to join the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2006.
In the past, this small island was inhabited by a few fishermen with small churches and vegetable gardens scattered around. Until Julius Caesar III and Charles III decided to start a major project. Today we can find the Borromeo Palace with 20 rooms and 130 works of art, including Raffaello, Correggio, Tiziano, Guido Reni and the Baroque garden, a fascinating combination of art and history.
This year will be the 10th year of creative direction for Nicolas Ghesquière. Since his start in 2013, the creative director has accustomed his audience not only to magnificent fashion shows but also to locations studied in detail. The fashion show will take place on May 24th right between the palace and the garden.
