We all dream about influencers life. Who wouldn’t want to get paid to sponsor his/her favorite products, travel and visit the most beautiful places in the world, make new experiences, get to know new people, not have a boss but work independently. Oh yes, look like a dream to me too. But is it really that simple to be an influencer? Is it really all roses and flowers? Well… not really.
Often, people have the prejudice that “being an influencer is not a real job” or “being an influencer is very easy, I can take two photos and publish them on Instagram too”.
Let’s dispel this myth, being influencer is not as simple as it seems and we have several testimonials, especially on Tik Tok. One of them is Ileen Bajo, a 26 year old girl who left her job as an employee, a certainty, to pursue her dream of becoming an influencer full time, an uncertainty.
Today, she has 110k followers but the road was not that easy. As she explained in her video, “I failed influencing and I’m going to have to look for a second job now”. Not having a boss is definitely fun but this means organising proper commitments with brands and thinking about expenses and taxes independently, maybe this is a little less fun… In fact, the young woman could not manage the finances on her own and had to look for a second job.
To be a content creator is not enough to be beautiful or funny otherwise the risk is to sink into oblivion, as often happens. You have to have a lot of creativity, passion, patience and above all constancy! The real challenge is to stand out from the crowd and always be able to bring new content that entertains the proper circle of users. When we open Tik Tok or Instagram, we do not perceive the effort that there’s behind a simple video or a post because for us it’s just a simple social network. Remember that for many people it is a real profession!
