Lately, one of the most discussed topics is safety in Milan, especially as a woman. After a girl’s testimony on Tik Tok, many of us saw ourselves in her and found the strength to tell our own story as well. The girl recounts that while she was walking to a friend of hers in San Babila, she risked being attacked by two boys who blatantly targeted her. They began pointing at her and shouting incomprehensible phrases. As soon as she realises this, she fortunately sees a cab and gets in. Many might think that nothing happened in the end, but that is not the point we need to dwell on. The more troubling question is: If the cab had not been there, what would have happened?

#milanopericolosa #sicurezzamilano Unfortunately, the testimonies are endless: cat calling, unwanted comments, stalking and chasing, assaults, sexual violence, encirclement, robbery… At any hour of the day or night and in any area of Milan, in clubs, on the street or on the vehicles. The hope is to be heard, get the videos to those in charge to make us feel safe again.
