For the spring summer 2023 man show, Thom Browne decided to focus on irony, the watchword was fun! The show was opened with a funny sketch. In fact, around six o’clock in the afternoon, the scheduled time for the beginning of the fashion show, some chairs were still empty. After a few minutes, some models arrived, including Marisa Berenson, Anh Duong, Cate Underwood, Farida Khelfa and Amy Fine Collins, took the seats and awkwardly apologised for being late. Oops!
The show then continues with erotic and seductive outfits, uncovered legs and bottoms, crop tops, bikinis and miniskirts. Most of the looks, however, are in tweed, referring to the classic formal suit. As they say, when the old meets the new, the classic American business man in an erotic and modern way. This style is in perfect contrast with the fashion show itself, which wants to remember the old fashioned ateliers, in fact, the models walk slowly, almost dragged, maintaining palettes that indicate their outfits number, just like in the old days.
