Do you know which is the only sector that has increased its emissions between 1990 and 2019? We are talking about the transportation sector. Living without cars is practically unthinkable in our society and this is also confirmed by Sole 24 Ore: in 2022 Italy was the third country in the European Union with the highest number of cars per 1,000 inhabitants, to be precise 672 cars per 1,000 inhabitants.

Have you ever wondered how much pollution transportation brings? A single car traveling 10,000 kilometers per year is responsible for the emission of 1,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide. Yet living without cars would benefit everyone: less air pollution, less traffic, less expense to maintain the car, more safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and parking would no longer be a problem.

Will we ever be able to live without cars?
