April 22nd, one month and one day after the spring equinox, was Earth Day, the date when we should celebrate our beloved Earth. This year is the 53rd edition that will be celebrated with more than 600 events to raise awareness of the environment and sustainability. Major events will take place at the Village for the Earth in Villa Borghese in Rome and in Turin with workshops, sports activities, talk shows, concerts. All dedicated to our Earth.

Despite all these parties, we definitely need to take a look at the latest Copernicus report, the service that monitors the European climate. Unfortunately, there is no good news… In fact, it revealed us that 2022 was the driest year and the second warmest year in Europe’s history, more than half of Europe’s rivers were below the 1991-2020 average, and temperatures rose 2.2 degrees above pre-industrial levels.

What should we expect from this year?
