Here is the new entry in the social networks world: BeReal. This new platform allows you to share a picture of our life a day with your friends. Well, that’s it? Wait a second… It’s not as mundane as it sounds.
In fact, every day, the app will send a notification “Time to BeReal” at a random time, where we will have two minutes to take a picture on the moment that will then expire 24 hours later. In order to be able to see the photos of our friends, we would have to publish one too. So, we and our friends would all be connected at the same time, also with the possibility to comment and react with RealMojis, selfie reactions.
What makes this new application so special? When we go to the App Store to download the app, we can find a nice section with warnings.
BeReal won’t make waste your time. It’s just a few minutes a day when we exchange photos with our friends. The application does not want to take up too much time, it has to be just a small moment of distraction from work/study.
BeReal is life, Real life, and this life is without filters. Thumbs up for this initiative! No filters, no Photoshop, no Faceapp, let’s show our strengths but also our flaws, we are just among friends, who really cares?
BeReal is your chance to show your friends who you really are, for once. Photos are completely random. “Hi, look what I’m doing, I’m getting bored/having fun! What are you doing?”
BeReal won’t make you famous. If you want to become an influencer you can stay on TikTok and Instagram. Feeling competition here! This is the strong point of the app. Here nobody wants to become famous, there are no followers ‘like’ buttons, no desire to look more beautiful, cuter, more fun. No fiction, the watchword is authenticity and spontaneity.
