Here we come to the most discussed topic in summer: Birkenstock. It’s immediately panic. It’s either hate or love… there’s nothing to do.
This pair of shoes, so criticised and so loved at the same time, was born about 230 years ago in Germany. 50 years ago was also introduced in the Italian market, thanks to the Pitschl family in Bolzano that has spread the shoe with his company. The highlight of these sandals is definitely the comfort thanks to its ergonomic footbed. Nowadays, they have become surprisingly a cool accessory and they are no longer considered out of fashion, indeed, many celebrities and fashionistas wear them daily! And not only that, even the most luxury fashion houses, from Valentino to Jil Sander, Dior and Proenza Schouler have taken inspiration and revisited the famous sandals from the German brand. Who would have thought!
