Vestiaire Collective announced the sale of the most expensive bag in the world. The Birkin “Fauborg” by Hermès (of course!). It is already known how luxurious the bags by the French brand are, but do you know how much this last bag is worth? € 158.000…Yes, practically an apartment value.
The design of this bag was inspired by the windows of the store located in Paris, more precisely, in 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. But why is this shop so iconic? This store was the first to be opened in the far 1880 by the son of Thierry Hermès, Charles-Émile Hermès. Here, the brand’s first products, bridles and saddles, were carefully customised and sold.
Let’s go back to our piece of art, the bag is made in five different leather types: alligator, swift and calf (differently worked), obviously hand-made from the beginning to the end. The thing that makes this work of art more precious and also the brand strength itself is its rarity and exclusivity, indeed, there are only 50 models worldwide. A real collector’s item!
