After reading the story of Anna Delvey, a question arises: how does a scammer dress? True, you can’t judge a book by its cover but when you are a manipulating criminal the first impression is fundamental.
In the previous article we looked into the Anna Delvey’s story, now let’s move on to the best, the outfits! (Styled by Lyn Paolo and the remaining team)
Let’s start with an outfit that Anna uses daily for her business days: navy blue Burberry blazer, white trousers matched with Horsebit Gucci shoulder bag and Dior espadrilles always in 1navy blue and you’re ready for work.
Let’s take some holidays and see the outfit on the yacht in Ibiza in which Anna and her boyfriend Chase Sikorski have extended the holidays by a few days, staying for free at the expense of real owners unaware of everything. She wears an Etro caftan in nude tones with an exotic print and a pair of sunglasses, while sipping a glass of wine.
Always in this episode, the protagonist also shows off a 60′ outfit, bright red dress by Alexander McQueen, Dior Book Tote bag personalized with her (fake) name obviously, a scarf digitally modified mixing Hermès, Versace and Gucci and a touch of gold with the Cartier Love bracelet.
Back to business, let’s see when Anna takes her friends on a tour in 281 Park, the super luxury location she wanted to rent to create Anna Delvey Foundation. While illustrating all the rooms to her guests with the attitude of a true hostess, she wears a Valentino houndstooth cape, the fiery red Lady Dior with gold and silver hardware, black gloves and Celine ankle boots with a a point of silver on the toe.
Let’s go back to the harsh reality, the most iconic outfit, that of the hearing, in which Anna explicitly asked for a stylist. A white H&M dress with V-neckline and transparent polka dots sleeves, almost to give the idea of innocence, black ballerinas and the inevitable black Celine glasses that have never abandoned her during her time in prison.
Anna failed her mission but at least her outfit were fire!
