Giuliana Florio and Pinkydoll are the new protagonists of Tik Tok. You have surely happened to see one of their live shows, in which they always say the same phrases and repeat the same actions, almost mechanically. At first glance, their videos might seem completely nonsensical and almost cringe. But what are they doing? They are so-called NPC streamers.
The word NPC comes from the magical world of gaming and means Non Playable Character, we are talking about those characters whose actions we (player) cannot control. They simply perform programmed actions. Although many people criticise this type of content, the views have high numbers. Just think that the hashtag #npc has reached 14.6 million views….
So why, underneath, do people like this trend? The thing that attracts the audience the most is definitely the interaction with the streamer by sending gifts or asking for certain commands. Some find it nerve-wracking and some find it fascinating….
