Under the Parisian sky, within the architectural marvel of the Grand Palais Éphémère, the fashion house Chanel unveiled its vision for Spring/Summer 2024, a journey through the terraced gardens of Villa Noailles and the flowered hills of the South of France.

Virginie Viard, Creative Director of Chanel, charted a course that meandered through rationalism and modernism, with a backdrop evoking the legendary residence of Villa Noailles. A residence that once hosted artistic giants such as Alberto Giacometti and Pablo Picasso. Its terraced gardens and the geometries of its sunken beds transformed into vibrant patterns, decorating the collection with patchworks, stripes, and checks.

Tweed, Chanel’s eternal symbol, was celebrated in a range of shades – from colorful checks to classic black and white, adorning kimono jackets, midi skirts, and suits. Alongside this, denim and black organza played a pivotal role, presenting subtle sensuality through layers of transparency.

But more than anything, the “Éternel” collection speaks of freedom. Viard embraced the very essence of the brand, with women walking with hands in pockets, in outfits that exalted movement, without constraints. The ultra-flat ballerina shoes, reminiscent of those worn by Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, embody this emancipated spirit.

The highlight? The appearance of Gigi Hadid, a familiar presence on Chanel’s runways, who shone in a radiant total black, embellished by the ever-enchanting jewelry of the brand.

Chanel did not just showcase a collection, but presented a philosophy: a celebration of movement, freedom, and the continuous evolution of the brand’s DNA. And as the lights dimmed, the echo of Chanel’s past resonated brightly into the future.
