We have already talked about how the phenomenon of greenwashing is, unfortunately, widespread, especially in the fashion world. In order to follow the sustainability trend and attract new customers, many brands are willing to scam the public into believing that they are sustainable even though the reality is quite different…

Just think that the EU has stated that 53%, more than half, of green labels are misleading, vague and unfounded. For this very reason, the European Commission has decided to impose new rules. In fact, as soon as approval has been obtained from the European Parliament and national governments, labels that feature the claims such as ‘organic’, ‘eco’, ‘carbon neutral’ or ‘made from recycled plastic’ will have to be accompanied by scientific evidence and data to prove their veracity. Otherwise, the company will be punished with a fine proportional to the degree of violation.
