Luisa Via Roma is one of the most renowned luxury concept stores (retailer of Gucci, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Jacquemus, Balenciaga…) and Vestiaire Collective one of the leading platforms of fashion luxury second hand market. These two giants have decided that together can do great things!

From May 26th, customers of the Florentine concept store will be able to resell their luxury accessories and clothes. Just by uploading all the product information on the dedicated section of the website, wait for a quote and the passing of the authenticity and quality check and you’re done! In return the customer will receive a gift card to spend on the official website of Luisa Via Roma. 

The resale sector is going crazy. Trends change at the speed of light, we all want new entries but we get tired faster and faster and here we go again, waiting for the news. A dog that chases its own tail. This is where the resale phenomenon comes into play!

As Statista confirms, in 2021, the global luxury resale market reached 33 billion dollars, just in the USA. And this trend is not going to stop, by 2025 it’s expected to grow by 9.6%, reaching 47 billion dollars. Exorbitant figures! The future of fashion will be second hand! 

But why is this trend working? Because customers want unique products, at affordable prices and sustainable, of course. Who wouldn’t want a used Gucci bag at an affordable price? Vintage charm is almost more enticing than a brand new product. 

There has been a shift in our mentality, years ago, it was thought that used products were to be thrown away, today they can have a second life: they can be repaired, reused or sold!
