Also this year, on May 2nd, the Met Gala arrived, an evening in which are raised funds to support the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum. One of the most long-awaited events that brought several controversies about the outfits. Well… my personal opinion is that everyone should interpret fashion as (s)he wants, no room for controversy about looks in my articles. Polemic about outfits are so out of fashion guys!

Anyway, the chosen theme is ‘In America: Anthology of Fashion’ and the dress-code is ‘Gilded Glamour’, let’s see!

Let’s start with the boom, Kim Kardashian presents herself with the vintage Jean Louis dress embellished with more than six thousand crystals. (slightly precious!) It was previously worn by the beautiful Marilyn Monroe in 1962 on the occasion of the 45th birthday of the President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. What can I say… ICONIC!

Let’s move on with the Hadid sisters. Bella opts for a total black look by Burberry, corset, tights, lace gloves and train accompanied by Briony Raymon jewelry, in particular a super bright anklet. It’s like a vintage movie!

While Gigi, her sister, comes with a total red look by Versace: corset, vinyl leggings, boots with heels and a maxi down jacket with a mega train. It seems uncomfortable but better not to contradict Donatella Versace on her birthday!

For her first Met Gala, Sweeney Sydney wears a look by Tory Burch, a long white dress with a detail on the waist that then, walking up the stairs, turned into a mini dress taking off the long skirt. She looks like an angel!

The dress that caused raised eyebrows and also my favorite was definitely the one worn by Blake Lively, inspired by the architecture of Manhattan and paying homage to the Empire State Building. But what probably caused the real uproar was the way Ryan Reynolds, her partner, was looking at her… Who cares about men, let’s focus on the dress please! The dress, or rather, the masterpiece, is very long in pink gold with a huge bow. Then, it changed colour into blue to recall the color of the Statue of Liberty and showing the embroideries of the 12 zodiac signs just like those found on the Grand Central Station ceiling. Wow!
