Today I am in a park writing this article, it seemed to me the most suitable place to find inspiration. Before I turned on the computer, I took a half-hour for myself, I watched the landscape and I reflected. Dogs run and play with each other, insects settle on flowers, the wind moves the trees, the sun warms my body and the leaves  fall on my towel.

How much do we take all this for granted?

April 22nd is Earth Day, the World Earth Day, born to raise awareness on the topic of sustainability, trying to protect our planet.

But how was born this day? The Earth Day was born in the USA in 1970, conceived by the American Senator Gaylord Nelson. That’s because in 1969, an oil rig exploded in California and flooded into the sea, killing thousands of animals. Initially, this day was born as an American event but it spread rapidly around the world and it is still remembered today.

We all know that the fashion industry is destructive to our planet. Just think about the fact that every year 100 billion clothes are produced but we are only 7 billion people on earth… This disparity is really disturbing!

As a result, each year approximately 40 tonnes of clothing and textiles are destroyed in landfills or incinerated, causing more pollution and waste.

But let’s think positive and above all let’s do something for our beloved Earth!

We have to admit that most of the brands are really working on being more sustainable, using sustainable materials and fabrics, ecological packaging and organising initiatives regarding recycling and second hand market. We must do the same!

So what can we do to support this initiative and be part of this day? Here are 52 actions to make a difference. https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-tips/
